Breast cancer occurs when some breast cells begin to grow abnormally. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, it does occur in men as well. Since 2006, October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer is the most common types of cancer in the world in 2020. According to estimates from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), there are more than 2.26 million new cases of breast cancer and around 685,000 cancer deaths worldwide. In 2020 breast cancer ranked fifth among the most common causes of death in general.
