World Epilepsy Day, celebrated every year on the second Monday in February, is an opportunity to raise awareness of epilepsy, how it can be treated, and how to provide treatment to all people in need.
The Global Campaign Against Epilepsy: “Getting Out of the Shadows” was launched in 1997 as a joint project between World Health Organization, International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), and International Bureau of Epilepsy (IBE), with the aim of raising public support, awareness and understanding of epilepsy, promoting efforts to improve care services. and reduce its impact.

Facts
Epilepsy is a chronic brain disorder that affects people of all ages and is characterized by short recurrent episodes of involuntary movement that affect part or all the body.
Temporary symptoms of an epileptic seizure include loss of awareness or consciousness, movement and sensation disturbances, mood disturbances, temporary confusion, uncontrollable jerking movements of the arms and legs.
