Overview
Walking is one of the least expensive, simplest, and easiest physical activities that doesn't require any special equipment or skills. It is also a way to improve physical fitness, maintain health, and reduce stress. However, it is unfortunate that it did not get the appreciation it deserves, whether in terms of health, or its value as a means of transportation and entertainment. In the present era, we see that the more humankind develops, the less they practice walking.
This sport can be practiced at any time and in any place, such as: parks, markets, public roads, or on seashores and others. This sport is not limited to a certain age, and even if a person is not able to exercise in general due to health conditions; Walking will improve health, restore vigor, and can be made a part of everyday life.
While walking, all muscles of the body move from feet muscles to the muscles of the arms. It also increases blood flow to all parts of the body.

Objectives:
  1. Public health promotion.
  2. Spreading the culture of walking and increasing the number of people who practice walking.
  3. Encouraging walking with participation of all segments of society in all regions of the Kingdom; To keep pace with the nation's aspirations: Towards a healthy body in an ambitious nation.

Walking every day, even for a short period, gives the body many benefits, including:
  • Burn extra calories.
  • Maintain a healthy weight and improve physical fitness.
  • Prevent chronic diseases, such as: heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.
  • Help lowering of harmful cholesterol level in the body.
  • Promote bone health and prevent osteoporosis.
  • Reduce anxiety or depression, improve the mood.
  • Maintain joint flexibility and muscle strength.
  • Improve balance and blood flow in the body.
The faster, longer and more frequent you walk, the greater benefits you gain.
