Overview:
World Obesity Federation changed date of the International Day Against Obesity from eleventh of October to the fourth day of March in 2020; to unite celebration of this day globally; With the aim of providing the opportunity and shedding sufficient light on this disease in proportion to the health risks arising from it.
Obesity is a chronic disease that affects more than two billion people in the world, and it is a very important risk factor for many chronic diseases. Obesity is one of the biggest health problems in the world and is seen as a stigma in the modern world. Addressing this disease requires a social responsibility that includes radical solutions in terms of prevention, treatment, and attention to a healthy lifestyle.
Objectives:
- Raising health awareness among community members on causes and risks of obesity, and ways of prevention.
- Raising health awareness of the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging early detection of obesity; to reduce its prevalence.
- Highlighting the importance of taking preventive measures to combat obesity, by inviting relevant authorities; To cooperate and contribute to finding solutions to eliminate obesity.
- Inviting and encouraging experts and business sectors to make efforts and help consumers change an unhealthy lifestyle.
