Overview:
International Childhood Cancer Day is an awareness day for all children and adolescents with cancer to benefit from the best possible treatment, care and support around the world.
Objectives:
- Raising awareness of early diagnosis of its effectiveness in reducing deaths from cancer and increasing the rate of recovery from it.
- Providing pediatric cancer treatment services, as it contributes to the success of treatment by up to 80%.
Facts:
- Every year, approximately 400,000 children and teenagers under the age of 20 develop cancer.
- The most common types of cancer in children are leukemia, brain cancer, lymphomas, and solid tumors, such as neuroblastomas and Wilms tumors.
