Introduction:
Nowadays, the harmful effect of smoking is no secret to anyone, unfortunately, it is still causes the loss of lives for many adults and young peoples. The Ministry of Health (MOH) seeks to control it and help smokers to quit to save their lives and protect them against smoking-caused diseases and to secure healthy, comfortable and disease free life for all members of community. The term "smoking" is not restricted to cigarette smoking only, but includes e-cigarette, shisha and others.
Every year, on 31 May, the world celebrates World No Tobacco Day to raise awareness about the importance of combating smoking in any form, as well as its harmful and deadly effects.
Facts:
Tobacco kills more than 8 million people worldwide each year.
Tobacco kills 1.2 million worldwide as a result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke.
Tobacco is one of the biggest public health threats.
Objectives:
Raise awareness about the dangers of smoking in all its forms and passive smoking.
Raise awareness about the harmful effects of smoking on lung health.
Debunk myths and expose manipulation tactics employed by the tobacco industries.
Equip young people with knowledge necessary to confront marketing tactics targeting them.
Empower young people to stand up against the tobacco industry manipulation.
