Overview:Eating Disorders Awareness Week is an opportunity to raise awareness about the impact of eating disorders on mental and physical health. This year’s theme, “Now is the Time,” aims to encourage early detection and treatment, and support research. Eating disorders affect how people think about eating habits, weight, and body shape, and impact on many aspects of a person’s life. The main types of eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorders.

- Educating the community about adopting healthy eating behaviors.
- Urging for healthy food.
Facts:
- Eating disorders are the second leading cause of death among mental health conditions.
- One person dies from an eating disorder every 52 minutes.
- Eating disorders affect nutrition, including the heart, digestive system, bones, teeth and mouth.
- Eating disorders are linked to anxiety, self-harm, depression, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
