World Alzheimer's Day
The World Alzheimer's Day is observed every year on September 21st; to identify the challenges and hardships of Alzheimer's disease and to shed light on it, showing the suffering patients endure around the world. It also calls for exerting every effort and working unremittingly to enhance the health care and increase support for Alzheimer's patients and their families.
 
According to a report by Alzheimer's  Disease International (ADI), there are more than 46 million persons with dementia. And by 2050, the number will reach 131,500.000 persons, meaning that during 2015 there will be 9.9 million new cases of dementia, at a rate of one case per 3 seconds.

Objectives and general messages:
  • To get acquainted with the ways to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease by changing the lifestyle and following a healthy one.
  • To urge the provision and enhancement of health care for Alzheimer’s (dementia) patients and their families.
  • To enhance and raise the health awareness about Alzheimer’s disease around the world.
  • To establish centers to support dementia patients and care for them throughout the stages of the disease.
  • To determine and record the number of dementia patients and organize an international campaign to change the relevant governmental policies, in collaboration with the World Health Organization "WHO".
  • To evaluate and upgrade the quality of the health care provided for the dementia patients, as well as the social welfare and other services.
