Overview:
A healthy marriage aims for compatibility and harmony between spouses in terms of health, psychological, and social aspects for protecting the couples and their offspring from infectious diseases, and giving birth to healthy children. Accordingly, the Kingdom's wise government has paid attention and keenness to creating healthy generations through the healthy marriage program. The program obliges the couples planning to get married to submit the premarital medical examination certificate before the contract is concluded, provided that this procedure is one of the requirements of the marriage contract and the couples are free to sign it or not.
A medical examination is performed for those planning to get married to determine the presence of some hereditary blood diseases (sickle cell anemia and thalassemia), some infectious diseases (hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and acquired immunodeficiency (AIDS). The aim is to give medical advice on the probability of transmitting these diseases to the other partner or children in the future and provide options and alternatives to help them plan for a healthy family.

Raising awareness of the importance of premarital examination to have a healthy family and giving birth to healthy children.
