Health Days 2021

World First Aid Day

Overview:
The response time is one of the most effective factors in saving lives of patients. Inspired by the Words of Almighty Allah in the Quran: «and whoever saves the life of a person is as if he has saved the life of the whole of humankind» (Surah Al-Ma’idah: 32); the World First Aid Day is celebrated each year on the second Saturday of September; to raise public awareness of how first aid can save lives in everyday and crisis situations.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) believes that first aid should be accessible to all and should also be an integral part of a wider developmental approach. The IFRC introduced the World First Aid Day in 2000.
