Partnership Agreement with ‘Lean’

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has recently signed several agreements with private sector companies; with a view to reinforcing the latter’s contribution to health development in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030. MOH seeks to enable the private sector to provide support to health services and partner with the government sector as per the actual needs of citizens, with high quality and efficiency. These partnerships are integrated with the services provided by MOH to benefit the society and citizens. The Ministry continues to conclude a series of agreements with private companies in order to open new horizons for partnership and achieve comprehensive health development. One of the agreements signed by MOH with private companies is the partnership agreement with ‘Lean’, according to which many services are provided. They include:

  • Appointment Scheduling Service to Provide COVID-19 VaccineThis service allows all citizens and residents in the Kingdom to register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through ‘Sehhaty’ application.
  • Appointment Scheduling Service to Examine Suspected COVID-19 Cases: This service allows all citizens and residents in the Kingdom who suspect they contracted the Coronavirus to schedule appointments to get examined through ‘Sehhaty’ application.
  • Health Practitioners Secondment: This service allows health agencies in the private sector to delegate their own practitioners in other agencies through an integrated electronic system. This process doesn’t require visiting MOH’s headquarters or its affiliates. This allows practitioners of the private sector to work in other agencies on a regular basis once approvals are provided through the system.
  • Initial Approval of Health Facilities LicensesThis service enables investors to obtain initial approval from MOH to automatically initiate any health activity.
  • Health Institutions and Facilities Self-assessmentIt is a service approved by MOH. It aims to define the rights of private health institutions in the regulations and standards of MOH, as well as the corrective measures that must be taken to improve the quality and safety of the health services provided. Moreover, it seeks to reinforce the concept of self-control in private health institutions and pharmaceutical facilities. Through (Seha) platform, the service aims to document the commercial register information of facilities through the Ministry of Commerce. It also documents medical licenses information through MOH’s Facilities Medical Licenses Service.
  • Medical Prescription: This service allows users to obtain medications through commercial pharmacies. This happens by receiving remote examinations via MOH’s channels. Patients can contact MOH’s call center (937) or use (Maw’ed) application to obtain an electronic prescription and get their medications from the nearest pharmacy without the need to go to the doctor.
  • Sick Leaves: This service is concerned with the electronic issuance of sick leaves by linking the relevant authorities of MOH with the Ministry of Interior (MOI), the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), and the Ministry of Civil Service. The service automates the procedures between the aforementioned parties in an integrated manner through electronic connection. This allows health service providers to issue these licenses and share them electronically with beneficiaries. Moreover, sick leave reports are shared electronically with the Ministry of Civil Service. They are also shared with the final beneficiaries (individuals) electronically through text messages and can be printed from MOH's e-portal.
  • Health Facilities Final Licenses Issuance: This service enables investors and existing health sector establishments to issue, renew, cancel, and transfer ownership, as well as amend the data of health facilities’ licenses automatically.
