​Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel
Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, Minister of Health, and member of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs. Chairman of the Health Sector Transformation Program Committee. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Health Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. He also chairs the boards of directors - the trustees of 27 bodies - centers - committees under the umbrella of the health sector.
His Excellency Al-Jalajel also participated in establishment of Lean Company and Thiqa Company and was the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of both companies.
His Excellency Al-Jalajel, who is currently supervising the transformation plan in the health sector, managed many important files during his career in a number of prominent sites, the most important of which are the General Authority for Investment (currently the Ministry of Investment), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Ministry of Health, to present his name as one of the distinguished in developing Strategies, planning and development.

Growing up and Education
His Excellency Al-Jalajel was born in 1978 and was educated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from King Saud University in Riyadh, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from St. Joseph’s University in Pennsylvania.

Work Experiences
Al-Jalajel has more than 25 years of experience in government work, during which he held a number of administrative positions, including the director of the Arabization of open source operating systems project in King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the director of networks and operations at the General Investment Authority, the general manager of information technology in the same authority, Adviser to His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Industry and General Supervisor of Information Technology in the Ministry, Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Consumer Affairs, and in 2016 a royal decree was issued appointing him as Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development, and in the year 2021 a royal decree was issued appointing him Minister of Health with the rank of minister.

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology
In 1998H, His Excellency Al-Jalajel was the director of the open source operating systems project at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, where he supervised the Arabization of open source secure operating systems project in the Saudi Computer Society and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. He also supervised presenting the project to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may Allah have mercy on him - in the first technical forum.
Ministry of Investment
He moved to work at the General Investment Authority (currently the Ministry of Investment) in 2001, where he assumed the duties of Networks and Operations Manager, and in 2007 he was appointed General Manager of Information Technology. Linking the services of government agencies needed by the investor in the comprehensive service centers spread in each of Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah, which contributed to improving the global classification of the investment environment in the Kingdom.
Ministry of Commerce and Industry
In 2008, Al-Jalajel participated in development of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry through his work as an advisor to His Excellency the Minister until he was assigned in 2012 as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Consumer Affairs. Consumer satisfaction, which in turn led to achieving the goals and strategies of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
His Excellency Al-Jalajel had a footprint in establishment of electronic services at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, where 29 services were launched, the most important of which are the integrated interactive services for reserving the trade name and issuing the commercial register electronically. More than 25 electronic services were also provided to the industrial sector, most notably the service of issuing the industrial license via Internet and receipt of the industrial license to the final beneficiary through the postal carrier and all services are done without the need to visit the Ministry's headquarters.
During his tenure at the Ministry, Al-Jalajel executed many achievements, the most important of which are:
  • The Ministry achieved the first place among all government agencies in the field of providing e-government services to citizens at the Second National Conference on e-Government Transactions under auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in 2010, after preparing and implementing the electronic transformation plan of Ministry of Commerce and Industry to adopt e-government.
  • Developing regulatory systems and raising consumers' satisfaction by working on a set of regulations and policies, which in turn led to achieving the goals and strategies of Ministry of Commerce and Industry. 
  • The launching of the Consumer Goods Index website at the level of the Kingdom under auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may Allah protect him - and this was in cooperation with the e-Government Transactions Program "Yusr" on mobile phones in a step that is considered the first at the level of government agencies, which came To meet the consumer's need to know prices when he is shopping or when he is in the store and at the outlets.
  • The service also includes the feature of submitting reports about cases of overpriced prices and cases of commercial fraud electronically, and by mobile phone the moment the violation is witnessed, as the process of submitting reports has become fast and easy, which in turn contributes to reducing commercial violations.
  • Supervising the launch of the "Interaction" center initiative to receive consumer reports and opinions around the clock through (the call center of the Ministry of Commerce 1900), and the initiative to communicate with consumers through social networks.
During his membership in the Saudi Energy Efficiency Program, Al-Jalajel developed a number of policies and strategies dealing with energy efficiency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and best practices for raising energy efficiency in the sectors of buildings, transportation, and industry in the field of energy efficiency, air conditioning, thermal insulation, lighting systems, energy services, and conformity laboratories.
During this period, Al-Jalajil also occupied the board of directors of “Saudi Arabian Airlines” - “Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO)” - “Human Resources Development Fund – Hadaf” - “Makkah and Holy Sites Development Authority” - “Riyadh Region Council” - “Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Authority (SASO)" - " General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities" - " Cooperative Societies Council " - " Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company" - "Takamul Holding Company".

Ministry of Health
Al-Jalajel began the process of strategic development in Ministry of Health when the honorable royal order was issued appointing him as Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development, at the excellent rank, on Thursday the 6th of February 2016. Areas of the health sector, including areas of digital development.
And on Friday the 15th of October 2021, the honorable royal order was issued appointing him as Minister of Health, to lead the development strategies in the ministry, which crystallized in the acceleration of achieving the ministry's goals.
Al-Jalajel participated in supervising emergency response plans for Corona pandemic (Covid-19) and vaccine centers, which had a great impact on Saudi Arabia achieving the first levels in the Group of Twenty, and the Kingdom ranked second in the pandemic response index, and Saudi Arabia was considered a symbol of success in confronting the pandemic through the Ministry's strategy, which placed protection of human health among its highest priorities. During Al-Jalajel era, the Ministry witnessed great achievements in confronting Corona pandemic (Covid-19), by supporting vaccine centers, which numbered more than 587 centers, and more than 26 million people received the first dose, more than 25 million people received the second dose, and more than 15 million people received the third boosting dose, and more than 26,000 health practitioners were trained on precautionary measures, examinations, and vaccine administration, and they were approved electronically. 144 million appointments were offered in the system with an operational capacity of up to 500,000 appointments per day, and more than 12 million text messages were sent for stimulus reservations and reminders of the importance of taking the specified doses. It is worth noting here the quality of regulatory procedures witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia inside and outside vaccine centers, in terms of organizing paths and preparing suitable spaces for movement of individuals or vehicles smoothly reflected on the satisfaction of beneficiaries, as well as the publication of scientific and indicative evidence that contributed to helping many beneficiaries during the pandemic, and messages were sent to evaluate services provided to beneficiaries after receiving the vaccine, as the rate of satisfaction reached 92%, which reflects the efforts made, which His Excellency Jalajel and employees of the Ministry of Health worked and supervised..

It is worth mentioning that Ministry of Health, under the leadership of Al-Jalajel, achieved an unprecedented achievement represented in establishment of the Virtual Health Hospital, which is a quantum leap in the transition from traditional to virtual health care by providing the best doctors in subspecialties, which contributed to provision of intensive care services as well as more than 30 health services, specializing in more than 150 hospitals around the Kingdom through the use of the latest innovative technologies to provide specialized health services as well as providing the necessary support to health facilities outside the Kingdom. In its first year, and the hospital achieved the Digital Government Award for its contribution to facilitating health services and investing in technologies to improve the health system. It also obtained the Canadian Accreditation certificate Diamond Level, which is the highest level of Canadian international accreditation.

Healthcare services also witnessed a qualitative and historical shift during the year 2022, represented by transformation of the institutional work in the Ministry after the approval by the Council of Ministers in June 2022 to establish the Health Holding Company to provide health services through health gatherings and the establishment of the National Health Insurance Center to finance these services, as this aims to Separation of the regulator from the service provider, which contributes to achieving higher effectiveness and efficiency and meeting the needs of citizens, residents and tourists in a greater way.

The follow-up and supervision of His Excellency Al-Jalajel had a significant impact on supporting Ministry of Health to obtain the King Abdulaziz Award for Quality at its golden level in its sixth edition for the year 2022 in the category of government sectors - the ministries track - as it is the first ministry to achieve this level among the ministries, as Ministry of Health implemented and adopted practices and concepts Institutional excellence, as well as continuation of its improvement work plans to ensure an increase in quality, in line with the stages of the National Transformation 2030.
