Strategic Objective
Developing mechanisms and controls for patients' referral among the public and private health facilities and coordination of the health care services among them so as to ensure that the patients receive appropriate medical care as per their health condition in an ease and comfortable manner.
  • The first strategy:
    • Raising awareness among the providers and recipients of the medical services about the Referral Program.
    • Identifying the targeted groups.
    • Organizing awareness workshops.
    • Preparing and distributing publications and promotional materials.
    • Using the media outlets and communication technologies.
    • Organizing campaigns for the targeted groups.
  • The second strategy:
    • Introducing the information technology for the development of the Referral System and Department among the health facilities.
  • The third strategy:
    • Improving the supply and demand equation to be compatible with the needs and expectations of patients concerning the referral process.
  • The fourth strategy:
    • Improving the skills and capabilities of the referral program staff.
  • The fifth strategy:
    • Comprehensive clarification of the Referral Program, particularly its responsibilities and abilities.
  • The sixth strategy:
    • Using a system to select the best and optimum ways to use human resources and available capabilities to comply with the requirements of the Referral Program.
  • The seventh strategy:
    • Strengthening commitment of those in charge of the Referral Program.
  • The eighth strategy:
    • Raising the efficiency of the existing infrastructure and necessary sources to improve the referral service and comply with its requirements.
  • The ninth strategy:
    • Selecting and building Saudi capabilities and cadres to join the Referral Program.
  • The tenth strategy:
    • Establishing an internal environment based on evidences and quality for organization, management and evaluation of the performance of the Referral Program.
  • The eleventh strategy:
    • Applying an effective plan to control and improve the overall quality of the Referral Program.
  • The twelfth strategy:
    • Establishing a program for partnership with those working with the MOH in the field of referral.
