Global Handwashing Day is celebrated on 15 October of each year. The Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing with Soap (PPPHW) established Global Handwashing Day in 2008 as a way to promote a global and local vision of handwashing with soap. It was approved by world governments and organizations, civil society organizations, NGOs, private companies and individuals from all over the world.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2016

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors resulting from the abnormal growth of breast cells. It is commonly affecting ladies of different ages. The breast cancer awareness campaigns and research funding have helped to improve the speed of diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Therefore, rates of survival have increased and the number of deaths has decreased due to the early detection of breast and new therapies.

The United Nations General Assembly declared 21 March as the World Down Syndrome Day, with effect from 2012, and invited all member states, relevant organizations of the United Nations and other international organizations, as well as civil society, including non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to observe the World Down Syndrome Day in an appropriate manner. The day is meant to raise public awareness of Down syndrome, and shed light on the group suffering from the disease in our society, and ensuring for them, children or adults alike, equal access to health services; which is critical to their empowerment and full participation in the society.
