Saudi Walking Day

​​​Introduction:

Walking is one of the inexpensive, simplest and easiest physical activities that require no equipment or special skills. It is also a means to improve physical fitness, to maintain health and to reduce stress. Unfortunately, walking has not received the appreciation it deserves, whether in terms of health or as a means of transportation and entertainment. 
Walking can be practiced at any time and place such as parks, malls, public roads, beaches, and others. Walking is not connected to a certain age even if a person cannot exercise in general due to health problems, however, walking will help him to improve his health and regain his activity. He can make it part of his daily life. 
Walking helps activate body muscles, starting from feet muscles up to arms muscles.

Walking daily, even for a short period of time, has many benefits for your body, including:
  • Burning extra calories.
  • Marinating a healthy weight and improving physical fitness. 
  • Preventing chronic diseases such as heart diseases, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes.
  • Lowering bad cholesterol LDL.
  • Promoting bone health and preventing osteoporosis.
  • Reducing anxiety or depression and improving mood.
  • Maintaining joint flexibility and muscle strength.
  • Improving balance and blood flow in the body.

  • Motivating walking by engaging all segments of society across the Kingdom in line with the national aspirations: towards a healthy body in an ambitious homeland.
