In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the percentage of children under the age of five years is about 7.9% of the population (according to the Statistical Yearbook 2021), which is a large percentage of society, this age group is more vulnerable to weakened immunity and increased susceptibility of getting diseased, especially in the first years of life. Therefore, the Ministry of Health give them a great concern and provide many healthcare services including prevention from risk factors, early detection and appropriate intervention for any health problem as disorders of growth and development.
