Dehydration

It occurs when the amount of water the body gets is less than the amount lost through vomiting, diarrhea, exhalation, perspiration or urination.
Causes:
Fever - Diarrhea - Vomiting - Excessive sweating - Excessive urination as in diabetic patients.
Symptoms:
  • Excessive thirst.
  • Nausea and vomiting.
  • Heart palpitations.
  • Feeling tired.
  • Dark yellow urine.
  • Dry mouth, lips and eyes.
  • Not urinating for long periods of time.
Avoiding dehydration while performing Hajj rituals:
  • Keep drinking enough water daily.
  • Eat foods rich in water, such as fruits and vegetables.
Dehydration treatment is according to the situation:
  • It is recommended to see a doctor when symptoms start.
  • Drinking replacement fluids or taking them intravenously in severe cases.
  • In cases of diarrhea, if it is caused by a bacterial infection, the doctor may recommend antibiotics.
  • Your doctor may recommend anti-emetics.
  • If the temperature rises, the doctor may prescribe medications that reduce the temperature.​​
