These are two essential, timed postpartum visits that take place in primary health care centers; To follow up on the health of the mother during the postpartum period, and to follow up on the health of the newborn until it reaches twenty-eight days.

The importance of postpartum visits:
- Monitoring the mother's health and its improvement.
- Discussion about the mother's feelings and her mental health.
- Discussion about family planning and contraceptives.
- Check on the health of the newborn and the continuity of breastfeeding.
- Discussion regarding vaginal secretions.
- Examination of the place of the wound in case of a caesarean section, or the perineal area if there was a surgical intervention.
- Check blood pressure and sugar level in case the mother encounters a problem during pregnancy or after childbirth.
- Discussion about taking the necessary vaccinations.
