Makkah Health Cluster Saves 3 Heart Attack Cases

Rapid intervention through the Urgent Care Pathway, one of the Saudi Model of Care pathways, helped save the lives of three pilgrims from Algeria, Malaysia, and Syria, all in their sixties and seventies, after they suffered acute heart attacks requiring immediate medical intervention. The cases were managed through the integrated healthcare system of the Makkah Health Cluster.
The Makkah Health Cluster explained that specialized medical teams at Ajyad Emergency Hospital and its affiliated Haram Emergency Centers managed the cases efficiently from the moment the patients arrived. Immediate medical care was provided, essential diagnostic tests were conducted, and treatment protocols for acute heart attacks were initiated without delay.
The Cluster noted that the rapid response of the medical teams stabilized the patients within the internationally recommended timeframe for emergency cardiac care. The integrated services across Makkah Health Cluster hospitals also enabled swift transfers and the continuation of specialized treatment at King Abdullah Medical City and Al Noor Specialist Hospital, where cardiac catheterization and advanced interventional procedures were performed.
The Cluster emphasized that this achievement reflects the readiness of the healthcare system in the central area of Makkah, the expertise of its medical teams, and the operational integration among its healthcare facilities in managing critical cases during the Hajj season, helping save lives and reduce complications associated with acute heart attacks.
This achievement supports the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to enhance the quality of urgent care services and elevate healthcare provided to pilgrims in line with the highest international medical standards.
