The Ministry of Health (MoH) has launched an inspection campaign targeting hair transplant services provided by dermatology and cosmetic centers, as well as day surgery centers, as part of its efforts to enhance patient safety and improve the quality of healthcare services.
The campaign focuses on verifying compliance with infection prevention and control standards in operating rooms and ensuring adherence to approved hair transplant protocols. It also aims to ensure that healthcare practitioners provide services only within their authorized scopes of practice and possess the required professional qualifications and practical experience. In addition, the campaign verifies the readiness of medical equipment and the safety of the clinical environment to protect beneficiaries, while emphasizing that hair transplant procedures must be performed by qualified specialist physicians. The Ministry also encourages beneficiaries to verify the identity and professional license of their treating physician at the clinic.
MoH stated that penalties for violating healthcare facilities may include fines of up to SAR 100,000, in addition to closure of the activity, in accordance with the Executive Regulations of the Private Health Institutions Law. Violating healthcare practitioners may face fines of up to SAR 100,000 and imprisonment for up to six months. The Ministry warned against using unqualified personnel, employing unlicensed practitioners, or providing services beyond an authorized scope of practice.
The Ministry urged the public to report any observations or violations through the Unified Contact Center (937), reaffirming its commitment to continuing inspection campaigns to ensure compliance with health regulations, protect public health, and safeguard community well-being.
