Saudi Arabia to Host BIO/CPHI Middle East Under MoH Patronage

Saudi Arabia will host the BIO/CPHI Middle East event in Riyadh under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and organized by Tahaluf, from May 11–13, 2026, at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham. As the region’s largest event dedicated to biotechnology and pharmaceutical development, it reflects the Kingdom’s growing position as a regional hub for healthcare events and scientific innovation.
H.E. Eng. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Health, stated that hosting the event reflects the increasing international confidence in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare investment and regulatory environment. He noted that it also demonstrates the Kingdom’s readiness to lead regional transformation in biotechnology and pharmaceutical development, in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives of building a thriving innovation-driven economy and enhancing the sustainability and global competitiveness of the healthcare sector.
The event supports the objectives of the National Biotechnology Strategy and the Health Sector Transformation Program by enabling the innovation ecosystem and strengthening international partnerships in biotechnology, clinical research, and technology transfer. It will showcase the latest advances in innovative medicines, cell and gene therapies, vaccines, and advanced biotechnology, in addition to the use of artificial intelligence to accelerate drug discovery and build national capabilities in bioinformatics and clinical research.
The event is expected to bring together more than 60,000 participants from over 100 countries, along with more than 1,000 brands, creating a global platform for knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships.
The event further reinforces Saudi Arabia’s role in innovation and advanced technologies. Through its participation, the Ministry of Health aims to support the localization of pharmaceutical industries, increase the healthcare sector’s contribution to GDP, expand healthcare investment, develop the national health workforce, and strengthen the Kingdom’s international presence in the healthcare sector to build a globally competitive health ecosystem.
