The Ministry of Health has released the
2025 Health Sector Annual Report, highlighting major transformational achievements that reflect the rapid advancement of the Kingdom’s healthcare sector and the continuous improvement of healthcare services. The report aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under
Saudi Vision 2030 to build a vibrant society through better prevention and quality of life, a thriving economy through improved healthcare spending efficiency and expanded investment, and an ambitious nation supported by a sustainable, people-centered healthcare system.
The report attributes these achievements to integrated national efforts based on the “Health in All Policies” approach and the “One Government” model, implemented in partnership with government entities across the Kingdom. It highlights an increase in life expectancy to 79.7 years, a 50% reduction in deaths from infectious diseases, and a 40% reduction in deaths from non-communicable (chronic) diseases.
It also reports a 30% reduction in deaths from unintentional injuries and a 60% decline in road traffic fatalities, reflecting the impact of national integration and the development of preventive and curative models of care.
The report highlights the Council of Ministers’ recognition of the successful Global Health Exhibition, which generated initiatives and investments exceeding SAR 124 billion. It also notes the designation of Jeddah and Madinah as the largest million-plus healthy cities in the Middle East, alongside the recognition of 16 Saudi cities as Healthy Cities.
