H.E. Minister of Health, Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, met today with H.E. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjaev, in the presence of H.E. Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Eldor Adilov, and H.E. Deputy Minister of Health, Ilhomjon Umurzakov. The meeting took place at the outset of the Minister’s official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan to discuss ways to strengthen health cooperation and advance the partnership between the two countries.
The meeting reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Uzbekistan and explored opportunities to expand cooperation across several priority areas, including healthcare system development, digital transformation, medical and pharmaceutical industries, health workforce development, and the promotion of high-quality investments in the health sector, contributing to shared interests and supporting sustainable development in both countries.
Minister AlJalajel and the Uzbek officials, joined by H.E. Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, also toured the Fergana Hospital project and received a briefing on the project’s latest developments, operational plans, and key components.
The hospital will have a capacity of 800 beds and consists of 10 floors housing integrated healthcare facilities and services. Saudi Arabia’s Vision Invest is participating in the project through an international consortium, reflecting the depth of health and investment cooperation between the Kingdom and the Republic of Uzbekistan, while highlighting the private sector’s role in supporting high-impact healthcare projects.
These meetings come as part of the growing relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Uzbekistan and reflect the leadership of both countries’ commitment to expanding health and investment cooperation. They also support the objectives of
Saudi Vision 2030 and reinforce the Kingdom’s role as an active partner in advancing healthcare systems and building sustainable international partnerships.
