The Ministry of Health (MoH), in strategic partnership with the
National Health Insurance Center (NHIC), is preparing to launch the 8th edition of the Health Ada’a Award, reflecting national efforts to strengthen institutional excellence, promote continuous improvement across healthcare facilities, and enable the adoption of best practices. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services, improve the efficiency and sustainability of the health system, and support the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and
Saudi Vision 2030 to build an ambitious nation with outstanding institutional performance and sustainable healthcare quality.
The award ceremony will be held next September. The Health Ada’a Award is one of the Kingdom’s leading national initiatives for measuring performance and promoting excellence in the healthcare sector through a comprehensive evaluation framework based on international best practices. It supports data-driven decision-making, contributes to the continuous improvement of healthcare services, enhances the beneficiary experience, and delivers sustainable health outcomes.
The award covers six main tracks: Emergency Care, Primary Care, Life Saving, Maternal and Child Care, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and Healthcare Services Efficiency. The Healthcare Services Efficiency track is being introduced for the first time in the eighth edition in strategic partnership with the National Health Insurance Center. It aims to improve the efficiency of healthcare service delivery, strengthen financial sustainability, promote the concept of value-based healthcare, support the development of the healthcare system, and encourage healthy competition among healthcare facilities to achieve higher levels of performance.
The eighth edition also introduces an advanced evaluation methodology designed to drive continuous performance improvement across healthcare facilities by standardizing evaluation criteria, measuring performance consistently, and leveraging data to improve services. This approach is expected to enhance the quality of care, improve service efficiency, and provide a better experience for beneficiaries.
