The health system has strengthened specialized cardiac care services during the 1447H Hajj season by providing advanced cardiac catheterization laboratories and cardiac surgery services across several healthcare facilities in the holy sites. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare quality for pilgrims as part of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under
Saudi Vision 2030, ensuring the delivery of advanced specialized care throughout Hajj.
Cardiac catheterization is a modern medical procedure used to diagnose and treat heart and coronary artery diseases without conventional surgery. It enables rapid intervention for heart attacks and blocked arteries while improving diagnostic accuracy for critical cases, helping reduce complications and improve treatment outcomes for pilgrims.
Specialized cardiac services are available at
King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah, which provides cardiac catheterization and heart surgery, in addition to cardiac catheterization services at Al Noor Specialist Hospital, East Arafat Hospital, and Mina Emergency Hospital 2.
The health system has also deployed more than 3,000 emergency vehicles and response units, 11 air ambulances, and 526 emergency dispatch points, supported by over 7,700 field emergency personnel as part of its Hajj preparedness plan to serve pilgrims during the 1447H Hajj season.
