Al-Rabiah: "Leadership Support for Health Sector Provides Safe Environment for Community Members"

​His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, has highlighted the attention the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, paid to the health sector and their keenness to promote the mental health and to provide a safe mental health environment for all community members. This came during his patronage of SABIC National Award for Mental Health Promotion ceremony today (Monday) at King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation in Riyadh.

Addressing the ceremony he expressed his pleasure to participate in activating this initiative for serving and caring for the mental patients. "In this context and out of our role to contribute in achieving the Kingdom's Vision, the National Committee for Mental Health Promotion has launched a national award targeting all government and private bodies and individuals in the field of mental health promotion in accordance with specific standards that support initiatives and services development for a better life", he adds. 

He said, "On this occasion, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to SABIC for sponsoring the award as an extension of its pioneering role in supporting outstanding social works. Also, I thank all those who participated in organizing the award, and I congratulate the winners and honorees, wishing them all success". 

For his part Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of SABIC, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan said that the cooperation between MOH and SABIC reflected the importance of inter-sectoral integration in consolidating community service principle. He said, "This is the model we at SABIC seek to establish as a public culture, and what have been achieved in this contest represents a real reflection of our theme "Chemistry that Matters". Believing in the importance of mental health in community, we at SABIC support such initiatives and programs to improve the quality of life in our community". 

At the end of the ceremony, Al-Rabiah honored winners of the contest.
In the presence of Al-Rabiah, a memo of understanding was signed between King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation and the National Committee for Mental Health Promotion.
