Madinah Cardiac Center Serves Over 30,000 Outpatients Annually
10 January 2018
Madinah Cardiac Center is one of the top centers in the Middle East in terms of medical equipment, supplies and technical competencies. The 100-bed center provides its services to over 30,000 outpatients annually, and features highly efficient competencies in different specialties. This comes in line with MOH's plan to establish additional specialized centers in order to alleviate the suffering of patients, and the burden on hospitals in the region by receiving all referred cases immediately to conduct such rare and sophisticated surgeries. According to recent statistics, the center's clinics served over 80,000 outpatients, and conducted more than 23,000 cardiac catheterizations for adults and 529 cardiac catheterizations for children, since its inauguration in 1432H.

The center has recently attracted a number of consultants in several cardiac specializations including cardiac transplant, myocardial insufficiency, electrocardiography and pediatric cardiac surgery, in an endeavor to provide the best health services and to activate the clinical programs for myocardial insufficiency and cardiac transplant patients. In addition, the center has obtained the accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as a training center for fellowship programs.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program «Adaa’», which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the strategic objectives of the National Transformation Program 2020 towards achieving the Saudi Vision 2030. The program covers 70 main hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
