Abu-Arish General Hospital: Mental Clinic Inaugurated

According to Jazan Health Affairs, the Mental Clinic of Abu-Arish General Hospital has been inaugurated. The Clinic features a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a social worker, and a nurse. It provides counseling and therapeutic services for anxiety, mood, depression, sleep, and stable schizophrenia disorders. The clinic also provides psychometrics (psychological tests), IQ tests for children and adults, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale (TMAS), in addition to psychosocial support to patients. Emergency and critical cases requiring hospitalization are referred to Al-Amal Hospital for Mental Health.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program «Adaa’», which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the strategic objectives of the National Transformation Program 2020 towards achieving the Saudi Vision 2030. The program covers 70 main hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
