HESN Program: Unit Three Service Launched for all Newborns Vaccination Registration
02 October 2017
In the presence of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, MOH launched on Monday Unit Three of (HESN) program, for registration of all newborns' immunization. Through this Unit, MOH seeks to overcome all challenges facing health professionals to access integrated and precise data on newborns. This will in turn enable wider coverage and better monitoring of basic vaccines.

This progressive step is in line with the objectives of (HESN), that is to enhance public health through cutting-edge technologies and electronic communication, to promote public health tasks and responsibilities towards prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and to improve environmental health in compliance with internationally recognized healthcare standards.

Remarkably, HESN program features an integrated electronic system to monitor diseases and epidemics. Currently, HESN operates through two key unites, namely Communicable Diseases and Epidemics Reporting Unit and Health Facilities Infections Monitoring Unit. Both units provide precise data to health professionals and decision makers that enable them to offer top-quality health services.

Recently, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued his royal decree to make public health a policy and a priority in all laws and regulations to combat diseases and ensure their prevention. This will reduce the burden of disease, and will require action by all government agencies to secure the desired goal; so that health becomes a priority at all levels. MOH continues to implement several healthcare programs and activities, including: healthcare educational and enhancement campaigns, which have attracted considerable engagement by all target groups; while covering various key healthcare topics.
