Dr. Ghannam: “Hajj Preparatory Committees Discussed New Initiatives and Achievements for the 1436-Hajj Season”

Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Health for Human Capital Planning and Development, Dr. Emad Al-Jahdali, the Hajj Preparatory Committees held their 9th meeting yesterday (Monday) at the Ministry of Health (MOH) Headquarters.
 

In this respect, the Supervisor-General of the Hajj and Umrah Health Services, Dr. Hussein bin Abdullah Ghannam, pointed out that the meeting reviewed the outcome of reports submitted on the new initiatives and achievements, and the potential improvements that can be applied for the 1436H-Hajj season.

 

Within the same vein, the meeting also touched upon the readiness and integration of the health facilities, and the services that have been offered to pilgrims by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at the Holy Sites, Makkah, Madinah, and the border crossing points, via land, sea and air. Moreover, the meeting recommended increasing the number of consultants in some specialties, including burns and plastic surgeries, for the Hajj Visiting Manpower Program, in addition to providing the needed medical equipment at hospitals of the Holy Sites. The meeting also underlined the importance of hiring emergency, infection control and IC consultants at the aforementioned crossing points.

 

Furthermore, the attendees ratified that all physicians must get courses in basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The meeting participants discussed recommendations to develop the statistical system during Hajj and reviewed the workflow reports of all Hajj committees, that is to be added to the automation of the process of entering information and vital indicators using the computer and the digital pen.

 

It is worth mentioning that this meeting comes within MOH’s preparations for this year's Hajj season, with a view to providing the best health services for the pilgrims.
