MOH Fines a Pharmacy and Medical Complex SR 70,000 Due to their Irregularities

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has approved a decision by the Committee, assigned to consider the violations of the private health institutions at Jazan Health Affairs Directorate, that fined the owner of a pharmacy SR 15,000; due to recording some irregularities, including the inauguration of the pharmacy before obtaining the statutory license, as well as buying pharmaceutical products that are unregistered and not priced by the competent authorities, in violation of Article 37 (paragraph 2) of the Law of Pharmaceutical Installations and Products and its Implementing Regulations.
 
Within the same vein, the MOH has approved the decision of the Committee, assigned to consider the violations of the Health Profession Practice Law at Taif Health Affairs Directorate, which punished a medical clinics complex in the province for possessing expired local anesthetics and medicines at its pediatric clinic.  The violations included also allowing two physicians to work with invalid licenses.
 
Thereby, the Ministry has stipulated penalties, including fining the complex SR 55,000; pursuant to Articles (30) and (32-3) of the Health Profession Practice Law, in addition to terminating the license of the laboratory specialist and removing his name from the licensees record.
 
The MOH emphasizes that it will take all the statutory procedures, including the cautionary closure, towards any health institution that violates the required quality standards of health services; in an endeavor to force such institutions to improve their conditions and redress all irregularities observed there, pursuant to the statutory procedures.
