Under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) is to organize the Annual Accreditation Day on 13th April, 2013 (corresponding to 3rd Jumada II) at Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh.
The Secretary-General of the Board, Dr. Salem Al-Wahhabi, has pointed out that accreditation certificates will be handed out during the ceremony’s activities to the hospitals approved last year (2012), totaling 39 hospitals throughout the Kingdom’s various regions. That is to be added to the accreditation certificates granted to four national laboratories.
“As part of the ceremony’s events, (ISQua) certificate obtained finally by the Board will be handed out to His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, as being Chairman of the Council of Health Services (CHS). Besides, that CBAHI standards are approved as referential standards for GCC, coinciding with the recognition of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua),” added Dr. Al-Wahhabi.
Being the one who will review the annual accreditation report, Dr. Al-Wahhabi has noted that the events also include launching the new CBAHI website, as well as inaugurating the first issue of the Health Accreditation Journal to be issued by the Board in periodic versions. Furthermore, certificates of thanks to be handed out to the members of the developing standards committee in CBAHI, and members of Saudi scientific societies participating in the development of the national standards for hospitals in its third edition.
