The Ministry of Health has warned against dealing with social media accounts that issue forgery sick leaves. This comes as part of its supervisory role and efforts to develop the digital health system and ensure compliance with regulation. It also emphasized that these practices are a crime that warrants legal penalties.
The ministry indicated that the penalties include anyone who issues a forgery medical report. The penalty may reach one year in prison and a fine of up to 100,000 riyals.
It emphasized that the regular method of obtaining sick leaves is through the "Sehhaty" platform, to ensure the reliability of medical reports and enhance ease of communication between the employee, his employer and health facilities, in a way to achieve the highest standards of transparency and quality in providing health services.
The Ministry called on individuals to beware of fake accounts that promote such irregular services, stressing the importance of using the "Sehhaty" platform to ensure the accuracy of reports and the integrity of procedures. It is worth noting that the Ministry periodically reviews sick leaves and their compatibility with the beneficiary's medical record through a digital platform that enables collecting and comparing data, seeking to achieve greater effectiveness of sick leave and ensuring its appropriate use.
In this context, the Ministry urged health practitioners to grant sick leave only to those who deserve it, according to the health condition of the beneficiary, and to adhere to professional ethics and medical responsibility.
