MOH Provides 200.000 Meals per Day at the Holy Places' Hospitals during the Hajj Season

   The Supervisor-General of Nutrition at the Ministry of Health (MOH), Mishari bin Hamad Al-Dakhil said, the MOH Nutrition Committee is working on preparing and operating the nine health sites in the Holy Places, and proceeding to the completion of these actions directly through the reports submitted by the nutrition divisions.
 
He pointed out that the Ministry provides meals to staff, patients and inpatients according to their state of health, paying thorough attention to ensuring the safety of these meals.
 
 Mishari Al-Dakhil explained that the Department is keen to provide nutrition in both its preventive and therapeutic aspects for patients through a number of professionals with recognized expertise and competence in the field of nutrition and who have been nominated to work in the Hajj season by all the Ministry's hospitals, pointing out that 60 nutrition specialists, technicians and accountants are disseminated to nine health sites in the Holy Places' hospitals to assume supervision of the conduct of nutrition from the beginning of receipt of the food out that meals are provided to recipients in the Hajj season and throughout the day (breakfast - lunch - dinner) at the specified time and equipped locations in every hospital throughout the Hajj season.
 
The Supervisor-General of Nutrition added, all meals will be provided by contractors with experience, capacity and efficiency to work in the nine sites of the Holy Places, as about 200 thousand meals will be provided for staff and patients throughout the day (breakfast - lunch - dinner) during the Hajj season, according to rigorous health terms and conditions, starting with buying the food material until it reaches to recipients, in the form of healthy, hot and delicious meal, placing particular emphasis upon the health and safety procedures.
 
He further explained that these meals would be prepared and provided by about 400 workers of both genders belonging to the contractor, after conducting medical surveys for them to make sure they don't have infectious diseases, in addition to the provision of health certificates that ensure the worker health safety.
 
The Supervisor-General of Nutrition at the Ministry of Health (MOH), Mishari bin Hamad Al-Dakhil concluded by saying, the Ministry is contacting with the nutrition contractors a sufficient period before the Hajj season, as the nine health sites will be prepared after setting a timetable for all work-steps. He added that the targeted tasks include: general maintenance of the nine sites, repairing some sites, maintenance of all devices, providing alternative tools and devices according to the specifications required, determining the numbers and categories of labor and distributing them, determining the food storage time period, and bringing food materials and storing them in accordance with health regulations and specifications that have been agreed upon with the contractors.
