Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel concluded his official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, aimed at strengthening health cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of innovation and health investment.
During the visit, His Excellency met with Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard, and the Minister for Health Care, Acko Ankarberg Johansson, where discussions focused on areas of global health cooperation, in addition to digital health, virtual care, the development of sustainable care models, strengthening preventive capacities, and supporting health systems with advanced technologies.
The visit also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Karolinska Institutet to enhance research collaboration and exchange expertise. The visit further contributed to strengthening joint efforts with the private sector, through discussions on cooperation with AstraZeneca and Elekta in the fields of advanced therapies, precision medicine, and advanced radiological technologies.
His Excellency visited a number of specialized health facilities and research centers, including the Public Health Agency, SALAR International, and the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, to exchange expertise and review advanced experiences.
The visit reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and promoting innovative solutions to support the development of the health system, in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program, stemming from Saudi Vision 2030, towards a more efficient, sustainable, and innovative health sector.
