The Health Endowment Fund has launched the Support Fund for Children with Type 1 Diabetes, an initiative designed to improve the quality of life for children living with this chronic condition across various regions of the Kingdom. The initiative aims to expedite access to modern insulin pumps, reducing the health burden on affected children and enhancing the quality of care provided to them.
In its first phase, the fund targets supporting 600 children annually by providing advanced insulin pumps that help regulate blood glucose levels and reduce the need for daily injections, resulting in improved health and greater emotional and family stability.
The Fund stated that this project represents a significant step toward empowering children with type 1 diabetes to enhance their quality of life during their early years and reduce disease-related complications—particularly sudden glucose fluctuations that require urgent intervention. Providing this modern technology also eases the healthcare burden on families and medical facilities.
The Fund called on donors, institutions, and community-driven companies to support the initiative and strengthen its sustainable humanitarian impact, noting that this program enables children to live their daily lives with confidence and security, while helping their families manage the condition more effectively.
The launch of the fund comes as part of the Health Endowment Fund’s ongoing efforts to support the most vulnerable groups through specialized educational, therapeutic, and technological programs, in partnership with both the health and nonprofit sectors. These efforts have provided healthcare services to more than 3,000 beneficiaries across the Kingdom through 26 associations and 26 specialized projects, while donations to the Fund exceeded 72 million riyals in 2024, reflecting strong community trust in its role and the lasting impact of its humanitarian and health initiatives.
