The Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, participated today in a ministerial session during the fifth edition of the Hajj Conference, where he reviewed the health sector’s efforts during the Hajj season to facilitate access to high-quality healthcare services for pilgrims. These efforts align with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Service to Guests of Allah Program, both stemming from Saudi Vision 2030, to enhance pilgrims’ safe and seamless experience.
During his participation in the session titled “From Vision to Reality: Integration of Services During Hajj Season,” alongside several esteemed ministers, H.E. AlJalajel emphasized that the health system works in close coordination with various government entities to ensure pilgrims’ safety, from their home countries, through their journey, and until their safe return.
He highlighted the health sector’s preventive efforts by reinforcing the requirement of “Health Capability” as a prerequisite for obtaining a Hajj visa, ensuring pilgrims’ safety and enabling them to perform their rituals comfortably and securely. He also noted the adoption of advanced technologies and proactive readiness measures, including spatial analytics and real-time data, to safeguard pilgrims’ health.
Preventive efforts also include the annual update of vaccination requirements based on health risks in pilgrims’ countries and addressing climate challenges, such as high temperatures, through integrated measures to prevent heat stress.
AlJalajel affirmed that pilgrims’ health is a top priority, as all relevant entities dedicate their resources to ensure a safe and healthy Hajj, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to caring for the Guests of Allah and enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.
The Minister also visited several pavilions participating in the Hajj Conference and Exhibition, including the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Interior, the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), the Health Holding Company, and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, where he was briefed on the latest initiatives and plans aimed at enhancing pilgrims’ safety and improving the quality and efficiency of health services provided during the Hajj season.
