Her Royal Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States, announced the launch of the 2025 edition of the “10KSA” initiative, to be held on December 8, 2025, under the theme “Together for Health”, during the Global Health Exhibition 2025, held from October 27–30 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham.
In her address at the exhibition, Her Royal Highness highlighted that the initiative aims to raise public awareness and promote preventive healthcare, emphasizing the importance of regular screening and early detection, which significantly increase the chances of successful treatment. The initiative seeks to raise awareness of all types of cancer, encourage early diagnosis, and promote healthier lifestyles through a series of community-driven activities, including the planting of 10,000 lavender shrubs in Asir to mark the initiative’s 10th anniversary, and the creation of lavender-colored awareness ribbons, inviting participants to share their experiences on social media.
“10KSA” is being launched as part of a collaborative national effort between multiple sectors to advance health awareness, supported by the Ministry of Health, the General Secretariat of the Ministerial Committee on Health in All Policies, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Asir Development Authority, the Environment Fund, and the Marooj Foundation, in partnership with the Arab National Bank, Mukatifa Consulting, Roshn Group, and WeBook.
The Ministry of Health affirmed that the initiative reinforces the principle of prevention before treatment, reflecting its commitment to joint coordination between public and private sectors in alignment with the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a healthy, sustainable society and a vibrant nation supported by effective governance.
Launched by Princess Reema bint Bandar in 2015, the 10KSA initiative was created to promote cancer awareness and preventive health, and it still holds the Guinness World Record for the largest human awareness ribbon, achieved with the participation of nearly 9,000 women in Riyadh.
