The Ministry of Health has reported significant advancements in several healthcare indicators through the Ada’a Health Platform—a national system that measures the performance of healthcare providers and promotes competition across multiple tracks. These improvements, achieved during 2023–2024, have positively impacted service quality, response times, and beneficiary satisfaction across regions of the Kingdom.
This progress supports the objectives of the Healthcare Transformation Program, enhances quality-of-service benchmarks, and aligns with the requirements of the Healthcare Model derived from Saudi Vision 2030, which aspires to build a “Vibrant Society” enjoying sustainable well-being.
According to data from the Ada’a Health Platform, 91% of emergency department patients were served within less than four hours in 2024, compared to 85% in 2022, as a result of strengthened bed capacity and rapid response care.
In maternal and child health, compliance with breastfeeding increased by 23%, contributing to improved health outcomes for mothers and children. Indicators of newborn care and safety also improved by more than 22%, highlighting the direct impact of ongoing maternal and child health programs.
On the surgical front, more than 11,300 operations were performed in a single week—a record that reflects efficient clinical planning and timely access to care. The average hospital stay dropped to about four days in 2024, down from 5.5 days in 2017, representing a 27% improvement. Waiting times for surgeries decreased from 53 days in 2022 to 21 days in 2024, a 60% reduction, while average specialty clinic wait times declined from 23 days to 16 days in the same period—a 30% decrease.
These results demonstrate the health sector’s commitment to continuous improvement and enhanced efficiency by investing in human capital, expanding digital health solutions, and improving patient experience. The Ada’a Health Platform, launched by the Ministry in 2018, continues to play a key role in driving sustainable progress and strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a regional leader in healthcare and quality of life.
