Minister of Health, H.E.  Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel praised the Cabinet’s recognition of the Healthy Cities Program, which has successfully accredited 16 cities across the Kingdom. This achievement reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to promoting public health and enhancing the well-being of its citizens.
AlJalajel credited this progress to the unwavering support of the Kingdom’s leadership and the collaborative efforts led by the Ministry of Health in partnership with various government entities. He emphasized that the program aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and embodies the “Health in All Policies” approach, spearheaded by the Ministerial Committee for Health in All Policies, to strengthen preventive health and improve quality of life.
“We are proud that Saudi cities are setting a global benchmark in adopting healthy city standards,” the Minister said. “The accreditation of 16 cities—including the first two million-plus population healthy cities in the Middle East—is a testament to the Kingdom’s dedication to creating sustainable, health-focused urban environments. I extend my sincere gratitude to regional governates and all government partners whose active support has been instrumental in the program’s success.”
Looking ahead, the Ministry of Health, through the Healthy Cities Program, will continue working collaboratively to expand the network of accredited cities and drive lasting change in lifestyle and urban health, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s leadership in sustainable health-driven development.
