As part of its comprehensive efforts to safeguard the health of pilgrims during Hajj 1446H, the Saudi health system has provided more than 102,000 health services by the 8th of Dhul Hijjah. These efforts are aligned with the goals of the “Health Sector Transformation" and “Pilgrim Experience Program" under Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to ensure high-quality healthcare and enable pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and safety.
According to the Ministry of Health, 55,275 pilgrims have benefited from services at health centers, while 27,231 cases were handled by emergency departments, and 1,412 patients were seen in outpatient clinics. Hospitals admitted 4,970 patients, including 2,262 in intensive care units. Additionally, medical teams performed 204 cardiac catheterizations and 16 open-heart surgeries.
Rapid-response field teams also managed 71 cases of heat exhaustion efficiently, as part of a robust emergency care system supported by advanced medical equipment and trained personnel, ensuring timely interventions to protect the health of pilgrims.
These figures highlight the readiness and resilience of the Saudi healthcare system, and its commitment to delivering world-class medical care through proactive planning and integrated health services during the Hajj season.
