Coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Ministry of Health announced that Seha Virtual Hospital — the world's largest virtual hospital — provided more than 54,000 addiction treatment consultations in 2024. This initiative is part of comprehensive efforts to enhance access to healthcare services through advanced technologies, ensuring the highest standards of privacy and medical quality, in line with the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a vibrant society enjoying sustainable well-being.
According to the Seha Virtual Hospital, the addiction clinics have enabled patients to begin their treatment journey with complete confidentiality and ease. A total of 2,468 individuals initiated treatment, with an adherence rate of 80%, reflecting the program's effectiveness in supporting recovery and long-term stability.
