The Ministry of Health has been awarded the Gold Level in the 7th King Abdulaziz Quality Award for the government sector, marking the highest level of institutional excellence achieved in the award's history. This recognition highlights the Ministry's ongoing commitment to quality, governance, and improving the efficiency of healthcare services in alignment with the Health Sector Transformation Program, a key initiative of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at building an ambitious nation with a high-performing, transparent government.
With a higher score than in the previous cycle, the Ministry has become the first government entity to ever reach this level in the award's history. This achievement is the result of a steady progression, starting with the Silver Level in 2018, then Gold in 2022, and now reaffirmed in 2024.
The King Abdulaziz Quality Award is considered the most prestigious national recognition in the field of quality and is awarded based on the European EFQM Excellence Model, adapted to the national context. The model includes nine criteria: Leadership, Strategic Planning, Resource and Partnership Management, Customer Focus, Process and Services Management, Organizational Performance Results, Human Resources Results, Customer Results, and Innovation & Digital Transformation. The award aims to promote excellence, efficiency, and transparency across organizations in pursuit of a prosperous and sustainable future.
