As part of its ongoing efforts to provide high-quality, efficient healthcare during the Hajj season, the Saudi healthcare system has delivered more than 78,000 medical services to pilgrims from the start of the 1446 AH Hajj season up to the second day of Dhul Hijjah. These efforts reflect a broader strategy aligned with the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, key components of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to ensure that pilgrims can perform their rituals in comfort, safety, and spiritual peace.
According to the Ministry of Health, more than 46,000 pilgrims have visited primary healthcare centers, while 17,000 emergency cases have been handled. Additionally, outpatient clinics recorded over 860 visits, and more than 3,000 patients were admitted to hospitals, over 1,600 of them in intensive care units (ICUs). The ministry also successfully conducted 8 open-heart surgeries and 104 cardiac catheterization procedures.
The healthcare system also responded to five cases of heat exhaustion, all of which were treated swiftly and effectively. Meanwhile, the 937 Medical Call Center provided over 27,000 remote medical consultations, demonstrating the health sector's commitment to accessible, responsive, and proactive care.
These achievements reflect the growing capacity and readiness of the Kingdom's healthcare infrastructure, aimed at delivering rapid and reliable medical services to pilgrims. The Ministry continues to provide integrated, high-standard care throughout Hajj 1446, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all pilgrims and ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of healthcare delivery as part of its mission to serve the Guests of Allah in the most exemplary manner.
