The Saudi Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, met with Frédéric Oudéa, Chairman of the Board at Sanofi, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. The meeting focused on strengthening strategic cooperation in areas including vaccine development, clinical research, and biotechnology.
The two sides explored opportunities to expand Sanofi's presence in the Kingdom, with particular emphasis on establishing fully integrated local manufacturing capabilities for insulin.
As part of his visit, the Minister toured Sanofi's newly completed, cutting-edge vaccine manufacturing facility in Lyon. He was received by Mr. Thomas Triomphe, Executive Vice President for Vaccines at Sanofi. The visit included a presentation of the facility's advanced production technologies and discussions on enhancing cooperation in vaccine development and biomanufacturing.
The visit also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Health Holding Company and Sanofi Arabia. The agreement aims to advance collaboration in clinical research, health innovation, digital health solutions, and patient-centered care initiatives.
This strategic partnership aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by empowering national healthcare capabilities, accelerating access to innovative treatments, and boosting local capacity through AI-driven research, joint clinical trials, and digital health programs, including the “Health Companion" initiative dedicated to diabetes care.
