His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, inaugurated 28 health projects across the Riyadh region—spanning the public, private, and nonprofit sectors—with a total value exceeding SAR 7 billion and a combined capacity of more than 3,000 beds. The inauguration ceremony was held at King Saud Medical City and attended by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, along with senior officials from the Ministry.
In his remarks, HRH the Governor expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom's leadership for its unwavering support of healthcare projects that enhance public health and reinforce the national healthcare system. He emphasized the importance of aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and the need for continued integration across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to serve the people of the Kingdom, who remain at the heart of national development.
Prince Faisal extended his congratulations to the Ministry of Health and healthcare workers under the leadership of the Minister of Health for the successful launch of these projects, wishing that they bring lasting benefit to Riyadh and its residents.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and a Quran recitation, followed by a short film titled “Salman's Mark" showcasing the leadership's commitment to healthcare. The Governor officially inaugurated the new healthcare projects and viewed a presentation highlighting the scope of the developments, including a heartwarming interactive segment featuring a child expressing appreciation for the Kingdom's efforts in supporting women and children's health.
In his address, the Minister of Health affirmed that the new projects strengthen healthcare infrastructure and raise the standard of services provided across the Kingdom. He praised the leadership's ongoing investment in health, noting that the collaboration among public, private, and nonprofit sectors is key to building a resilient and innovative healthcare system. These efforts, he added, align with the objectives of Vision 2030 to create a healthier, more vibrant society.
Among the launched projects were initiatives across Riyadh's three health clusters, valued at over SAR 1.8 billion. These included major facilities such as the Maternity and Children Tower at King Saud Medical City (500 beds), new medical towers at King Salman Hospital and Al Iman Hospital (200 beds each), and a new kidney center in Al Aflaj (30 beds).
The project included the development of four primary healthcare centers in the neighborhoods of Al-Hazm, Badr, Okaz, and Al-Fawaz, as well as the primary healthcare center in the Al-Rabwa neighborhood, which includes nine clinics and 30 intensive care beds in the long-term care hospital, and the urgent care project at Hawtah Bani Tamim Hospital, which includes five beds, in addition to the Al-Qassim Charitable Complex for Kidney Dialysis and Dentistry, which includes 22 dental clinics and 15 kidney dialysis chairs.
In the second health cluster, His Highness inaugurated the expansion project of Tamir Hospital (Ibrahim Al Sultan Charitable Foundation) with a capacity of 30 beds, and a health center in Rawdat Sudair (Al Babtain Charitable Foundation). Meanwhile, the third health cluster projects included nine new projects, most notably the 300-bed Diriyah General Hospital, the Abdul Moneim Al-Rashed Humanitarian Foundation, two specialized dental and rehabilitation centers named after Abdul Moneim Al Rashid, the development of the emergency department at Shaqra Hospital, the establishment of a health center in Umm Al Manasher, the development of outpatient clinics at Shaqra Hospital, the creation of an endoscopy department at Al Dawadmi Hospital, and the development of the emergency department at Thadiq Hospital.
He also inaugurated eight new private sector health projects worth more than 5 billion riyals, including the 343-bed Madida Medical Care Company, the 30-bed Riyadh Medical Hospital, the 20-bed Arteh Specialized Hospital, and the 10-bed Banan Medical Hospital.
The event concluded with a recognition ceremony honoring individuals and organizations that supported the newly launched projects.
These developments reflect the Ministry of Health's ongoing efforts to foster investment in the healthcare sector, reinforce public-private partnerships, and build an innovative, sustainable healthcare environment. The projects are designed to improve access to high-quality services and align with the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at creating a vibrant society supported by an advanced, efficient, and inclusive healthcare system.
