The Ministry of Health won the Kotler Award Saudi Arabia for the Best Health and Wellness Campaign “#Walk 30”, which aims to establish a culture of walking as a daily habit and contributes to improving the quality of life and promoting public health. This honor comes as a culmination of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance prevention and improve healthy lifestyles, as part of the health sector transformation program, to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a vibrant healthy society.
The Ministry of Health stated that “#Walk30”, affiliated with the “live well” initiative, is the greatest initiative in the Kingdom. The number of participants has exceeded 50,000 since its launch in 2019 in all regions of the Kingdom. The initiative focuses on the Saudi community’s commitment to walking for 150 minutes per week to promote a healthy lifestyle. It is also the largest digital health challenge in the Kingdom, as it has gathered more than one million participants through the Sehhaty app.
These achievements reflect the Ministry of Health’s ongoing commitment to adopting the best practices in marketing and community outreach, to support the transformation in the health sector, by promoting preventive health, raising awareness, and encouraging healthy behaviors that contribute to improving the quality of life in society.
It is worth noting that the Kotler Award was founded in 2003 by the famous marketing scientist Philip Kotler, to celebrate excellence in marketing and community awareness and highlight innovative and successful awareness initiatives. The award includes 11 tracks that focus on honoring institutions, companies and government establishments that have made a tangible impact on society through innovative and effective marketing strategies.
