Last Thursday, Saudi Minister of Health H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel met with China's Minister of the National Health Commission (NHC) Lei Haichao during his official visit to the People's Republic of China.
The two sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in the healthcare sector, focusing on ongoing efforts to address health challenges and leverage shared expertise to enhance the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering cooperation across various health-related domains. The agreement builds on the robust partnership established during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in epidemic prevention, preparedness, and control. It also supports international organizations and multilateral mechanisms to address global health challenges and establishes strategic partnerships in healthcare to capitalize on opportunities that advance health transformation goals in both nations.
Minister AlJalajel expressed his appreciation for the invitation from Minister Haichao, commending the significant progress achieved by both nations in healthcare, technology, research, development, and innovation.
He emphasized the importance of promoting fruitful cooperation in the health field for maintaing the health of the individual and society, pointing to the depth of historical relations between the two countries.
