MOH Fines 3 Airlines for Violating the Health Surveillance Law at Entry Ports

The Ministry of Health imposed a fine on 3 airlines that violated the health Surveillance law after arriving from 3 countries to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, based on the general controls and conditions in the executive regulations of the health surveillance law at entry ports, and based on its responsibilities to manage health risks, in a way that enhances health security and ensures the safety of public health.The Ministry of Health stated that these airline companies failed to adhere to the procedures followed to combat disease vectors from endemic areas, as they did not spray the aircraft with insecticides according to the specified standards, thus violating the health procedures stipulated in the executive regulations of the health surveillance law at entry ports. The ministry added that these airlines transported passengers coming from infected areas on without following the necessary preventive measures to prevent the transmission of diseases. The ministry took disciplinary measures against these companies to ensure that such violations that may endanger public health are not repeated. These measures come within the framework of the Ministry of Health's ongoing supervisory efforts to enhance health control at airports and border crossings, and to maintain public health by strictly implementing laws and regulations to ensure health security and safety for citizens, residents and visitors in various regions of the Kingdom.
