Saudi Deputy Health Minister Holds Bilateral Meetings in New York

Saudi Deputy Minister of Health Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Rumaih participated in the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79) in New York City, holding several bilateral meetings.

He met with Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Republic of Latvia Minister of Health Hosams Abu Meri, and Federal Republic of Nigeria Minister of Health and Social Welfare Muhammad Ali.
The discussions focused on common health interests, supporting international efforts, and exchanging experiences.
Furthermore, a high-level event titled "The Road from New York to Jeddah" was organized by the Saudi and British Ministries of Health to discuss antimicrobial resistance. The event, attended by Eng. Al-Rumaih, aimed to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in global health and drive towards comprehensive and sustainable solutions to health challenges. The event saw participation from several international officials and featured discussions on the importance of antimicrobial resistance.
Chief Executive of the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), Dr. Abdullah Al-Gwizanian and Assistant deputy Minister of Health, Rakan bin Khalid bin Dohaish also participated in an accompanying event organized by the World Economic Forum, which discussed various health topics.
The Ministry of Health's participation affirmed its commitment to addressing global health challenges and risks in line with the health transformation goals and the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The commitment includes strengthening international cooperation, supporting partnerships with countries in the health field, ensuring public health security, achieving sustainability of health systems through innovative policies, and building strategic partnerships with countries and international organizations. These efforts aim to enhance cooperation in the health field and improve local, regional, and global health security.
